Who We Are
A short introduction to POSTEPAY S.P.A.'s purpose, editorial approach and the boundaries of what we publish.
Independent explanation, not sales material
POSTEPAY S.P.A. was established in Rome to address a gap we kept noticing: most material about digital payments, prepaid cards and electronic money is either written by providers trying to sell a product, or by regulators writing for other regulators. Very little is aimed at a general reader who simply wants to understand how the systems work.
Our content is organised around plain explanations of mechanisms — authorisation, clearing, settlement, safeguarding of funds, and the difference between similar-sounding instruments — rather than around any single product or provider.
Editorial principles we follow
These principles guide how our material on digital payments, prepaid cards and electronic money is researched, written and reviewed.
Source-led research
Explanations are checked against public regulatory texts, standards bodies and established industry references before publication.
Neutral framing
We describe how instruments and processes generally work without recommending, ranking or endorsing any specific provider.
Periodic review
Pages are revisited as rules or terminology in the payments sector evolve, and updated where our earlier wording is no longer accurate.
No transactional role
POSTEPAY S.P.A. does not open accounts, issue cards, move money or charge for any service. We publish information only.
Plain language
Where a technical or regulatory term is unavoidable, we define it in context rather than assuming prior knowledge.
Regional context
Where rules differ meaningfully between regions, we note that variation rather than presenting a single framework as universal.
A small, focused editorial base
POSTEPAY S.P.A. operates from a single office in Rome. We keep our structure deliberately simple: an editorial function that researches and writes, and a support channel for questions from readers.
